While the 52 waits in Queensland for delivery to Sydney for more premier racing, Georgia One (the 43) has been retrieved from storage and will be relaunched next week.
The boat sports a fresh paint job and a Nick Holroyd designed, more contemporary, rudder. It will compete in Wednesday night racing through summer, building up to the IRC National Championships to be held as part of the Bay of Islands Sailing Week in January 2011.
Meanwhile, the 52 will soon be delivered from Airlie Beach, Queensland, to Sydney. Tom Blampied, Geezer and George Hendy will conduct the delivery at the end of November. Georgia will take part in the Rolex Trophy run by Sydney's CYCA, a significant lead-up event to the Sydney Hobart, and with a premium IRC racing fleet, it will be a true test for the grand prix division yacht.
Beyond the Rolex, Georgia will likely enter the Audi IRC Australian Championships, which is a series of events incorporating the Sydney to Southport Race, and will remain in New South Wales and Queensland until the Hamilton Island Race Week in August 2011.
